Well, money seems to be the most evil and also most powerful subjective matter to obtain objective matters. every day, every hour and every second there are some one comes out with new ideas of making money..
Talking about making money, one can start up their own business, do some part time job to earn side incomes, some seems no faith in self employed and stacked with the 9-5 kinda job. ..this is all fine as long as its morale… but there's one place in this world where not the individual but the whole government will come up with all kind of throat slitting ideas to make money…
It’s none other than the so called Silicon city, Bangalore…oopss Bengaluru…After many years with their old sucks international airport, the B'lore government has come up with their "world class" international airport where they are charging a User Development Fee of Rs. 1070 from all outbound international passengers whom are using the Bengaluru International Airport. The User Development Fee is towards the cost for construction and operation of the airport and has been approved by the Ministry of Civil Aviation of India.
I seriously don't understand the purpose for us (international passengers) to pay for their own land's construction…Do we asked for it?? The making money doesn't stop here…If u look through this link -, I'm sure u will get an idea of their ways of money stealing from passengers, especially from international passenger (as there is diff quota for an Indian citizen and NRI's – non-residential Indian in certain stuffs)
In addition to this, the taxi charges to reach the airport are doubled than what we use to pay earlier…The new airport is situated about 40km from central and takes about 1hr to reach there..and if its heavy traffic, dun has to say definitely gonna take more than 1 1/2hrs… Imagine those who like us whom are away from the airport about 50-65 km….In addition to it, now the fuel prices increased. Sure they gonna charge more than what we imagine n calculate….
Beside this, there are also charging airport usage fee (+ ticket + tax) separately if u purchase a ticket from India…isn't it too much?? … Even I heard that the entrance fees for visitors are increased to RS 200 from RS 60 previously and foods are also too expensive...it seems for 2 mini idlis served with water liked sambar costs abt Rs80..n I tell u wat, the idli's they make here its d worst in world...I dunno what more they gonna charge us and empty our pockets….By the time I reach Malaysia, I guess ¾ of my money will be in New Bangalore Airport fund….
This is just an example of how the Bangalore or Indian Government making money in most awful ways..Will update lot more in future…
Here is some most disastrous aspects of the Airport which I got it from an Indian blogger...these are the things he listed ...
1) The route to new airport is highly polluted, as it is National Highway - 4, no trees or any kind of greenery. just big trucks and cemented road. This will add to the stress and frustration.
2) The airport building is a block of cement, with no design or any aesthetic value at all. No curves, no exciting forms on contrary it's just a block shaped building with lots of glass.
3) Inside the Building, there is hardly any space for people to sit or relax. From the day one the place is looking overcrowded. It took us 15 minutes to find 3 empty seats together in a row.
4) The Toilets are very small, to describe the Men's Loo, there are only 4 urinals, in the loo. this makes it an almost 15 minute wait, before you get to do it! God saves the people with emergency calls!
5) The Graphics inside the Airport Suck! The signage and the other info graphics are very badly done, with no element of Indian Culture or any kind of aesthetic value.
6) The area surrounding the airport looks like Sahara desert, the brown & dusty landscape is all you can see. Can we have some trees or greenery please?
7) Tommy Hilfiger, Esprit, Crossword etc. While people don't have any place to sit, most of our Airport space is occupied by these luxury brands. You can easily mistake the First floor of the Airport with the Forum Mall.
8) There is nothing Indian in this airport, which represents our core values; or which tells the world, that we are no longer a developing nation.
To summarize; the Bangalore new international Airport is both functionally & aesthetically very poor. My suggestion to the cities developing new airports, Please come and see this airport, to know, how not to build an airport. ==> hahha...very true...
